LittleFingers
Adaptors
LittleFingers® comes with the cables and connectors necessary to connect to an Apple Macintosh system (ADB) and to a Windows compatible system.
Due to the development of a number of different standards over the years, you may need some additional connectors to connect to a Windows or DOS based system.
The LittleFingers® Windows cable comes with two PS/2 type connectors, one for the keyboard and one for the trackball. One of these connects to the normal keyboard socket and the other to the "mouse" socket.
PS/2 connectors are small round plugs about 9mm in diameter. They have six pins and a small square block offset from the centre to help align them the right way around. PS/2 connectors are also often known as mini-DIN sockets.
If your computer has an older AT motherboard, it will have a larger 5-pin DIN connector for the keyboard. An adaptor is readily available at computer stores that will enable your to connect the LittleFingers® keyboard to your computer. If you also wish to utilise "dual-mode" and have your normal keyboard plugged into LittleFingers®, you will also need a second "opposite" adaptor so the larger plug on your normal keyboard will plug into the LittleFingers® PS/2 socket.
In such circumstances, you are also likely to need to connect the LittleFingers® Deluxe Trackball to a serial port. An adaptor to enable this is included.
